How checkout and account linking work

The storefront lets you check out with an email first, then create or sign in to the same email later to keep the full order history.

How checkout works now

Checkout only requires the email that should own the order. Payment updates, delivery status, and final order details are still saved against that email.

If you later create an account or sign in with the same email, the account area will show those orders without needing a separate claim flow.

What happens if you are not signed in

You can finish checkout as a guest and land on a temporary order page for that purchase.

From there, you can create an account or sign in with the same email to move into the permanent account view for current and future orders.

What stays attached to the account

  • The checkout email used for the order record.
  • Payment and fulfillment status updates.
  • Any manual-service details submitted during checkout.
  • Final delivery notes or credentials when the order is completed.
